The Parking and Highway Improvement Examination is divided into seven major sections. These sections are:
1. Planning and Estimating (26%)

Install and remove traffic control
3. Job Safety (15%)
Protect public from safety hazards

5. Striping and Pavement Markers (18%)
Evaluate weather conditions
Layout striping and pavement marker patterns

6. Special Applications (8%)
Apply game court surface coatings and striping
Apply airport/heliport surface coatings and striping
Install speed bumps, wheel stops, guardrail, attenuators, parking control gates, etc.
7. Incidental Pavement Repair (7%)
Evaluate cause of pavement failure
Remove and replace damaged pavement
